Over 1,700 people have signed the petition in less than two days.
A petition calling on the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board to overturn John 'Shark' Hanlon's 10-month training ban has received over 1,700 signatures.
The trainer, who was also handed a €2,000 fine by the IHRB, apologised and said a tarpaulin covering the deceased animal became displaced during the journey. Despite this reasoning, the IHRB panel said he was "grossly negligent in the supervision of the transport of the horse carcass" and that there was "high culpability" on his part.
