Three teenagers were shot, one fatally, early Thursday morning at an apartment building in Corona, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 12:45 a.m. in the 1300 block of Circle City Drive, according to the Corona Police Department. Officers responded to the scene and found each of the teens suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victims were transported to a hospital, including a 16-year-old that later succumbed to his injuries. The other two victims were identified as a 13-year-old in stable condition and a 14-year-old that had to undergo surgery. No arrests were immediately announced, and the motive for the shooting was under investigation, but authorities believe it was an"isolated event."
