That confrontation occurred Jan. 14 after a driver inadvertently cut off a vehicle driven by Edwards and Palmer in the passenger seat, on Route 35 in Eatontown, Linskey said. Palmer shot the man in the leg, authorities alleged. Palmer and Edwards fled the scene after the attack, they said.
