In a statement, a spokesperson for his family said Mr Crosby 'was a highly successful IT consultant, entrepreneur and founder who had spent much of his working life in London'
The two men who lost their lives in Tuesday’s helicopter crash in Co Westmeath have been named as Niall Crosby, 46, from Glenageary in Dublin and Antonin Kabelka from the Czech Republic.
"Niall's family would like to thank everyone who has been in touch with their condolences over the extraordinarily difficult 24 hours. The helicopter the men were in crashed into a piggery tragically killing both of them. On Wednesday it emerged they were practising how to land in cases of engine failure when it came down.
“It teaches the pilot under instruction how to perform a landing after the engine in a helicopter actually fails.” Locals said they saw the aircraft “struggling” before it plunged into the piggery. Luckily, no one was in the building and no other injuries were reported.
