Two people were killed and four taken to hospitals following an accident on La Grange Road near Palos Park.
A 56-year-old man and 54-year-old woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday on La Grange Road near Palos Park, according to Cook County Sheriff’s Police.
Police said they responded shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday to the crash near La Grange and 119th St., in unincorporated Cook County, and a preliminary investigation shows Buick sedan was attempting to turn north onto La Grange when it was hit by a southbound Dodge pickup truck.The man and woman were passengers in the sedan, according to police. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman died shortly after being taken to a hospital, according to police.
Identities of the two were not available Monday from the Cook County medical examiner’s office, which said they suffered multiple injuries.Two other people who were traveling in the Buick and two occupants of the truck were taken to hospitals for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to call sheriff’s investigators at 708-865-4896. A section of La Grange Road between 111th and 123rd Streets was closed for several hours Sunday during the investigation.
