It's quite the view!
The church is well known for surviving the Civil War and today there remains a hole in the spire where a cannon ball is said to have hit in 1644. The church tower was built in four stages, and over time the spire was added to and is now the fifth tallest parish church spire in England.
The spire can be seen as far as Mapperley Park in Nottingham. One day a month, from May to September, the church will open twice a day to allow for tower tours.
