One customer said booking a Tesco home delivery Christmas slot for their parents was like getting ‘Glastonbury and Peter Kay tickets all at once’
Tesco customers wanting to book their Christmas shops are facing massive queues this morning as hundreds of thousands all logged on together. People on the website said it was constantly crashing and were told there were 200,000 people in the queue ahead of them.
Many got up at 5am and said they were already in a queue, leading them to question whether it had in fact started earlier - meaning those who stuck to the rules were at a disadvantage. Others waited for long times having been told they were 191,000th in line. Many people have taken to Twitter to comment on the long waits. Becca Wilson said: “I stopped shopping in person 2015 because it was too difficult once I moved to a #wheelchair. This morning however, #Tesco provided me with an authentic 1 hr queueing experience - complete with chat to your queue neighbours on twitter #XmasShop #christmas2022” Lynn Batten added: “Is anyone waiting in the Tesco online shopping queue to bag their Christmas slot, it’s very tense. I’m almost at the front, phew.
