Demarcus Williams is suspected of driving the shooter to the scene of the slaying, according to court records.A man was arrested last week in the March slaying of a 25-year-old Dallas woman who was driving in east Oak Cliff when she was shot.
Although Williams is not suspected of shooting Shanique Alex, he drove the gunman to the scene, an arrest-warrant affidavit says. Under Texas’s law of parties, an accomplice can face the same charge as the person who causes a death. The shooting was captured on surveillance footage, which also shows the Chevy circling the apartment complex multiple times before the incident, “indicating the suspects were conducting surveillance and possibly communicating with other persons,” police wrote in the affidavit.
Months later, on Aug. 9, police learned the other passenger’s home had been shot at least four times over two days. When the gunman, whom police identified as Williams, attempted to shoot at the home a fifth time, he was wounded by a gunshot to the head.
