In good news for us, fashion is heroing basic pieces as trends at the moment – see the explosion of stripes everywhere as a case in point. Up for spring is the white shirt – something all of us are bound to have in our wardrobes. How do you wear it this season? The answer is pretty much with everything. However our favourites are an oversized button-down shirt with jeans or, for night time, paired with a fancy full skirt in the vein of fashion designer Caroline Herrera.
Black for spring may seem a little counterintuitive but designers doubled down on their commitment to the classic colour, with labels like Versace and Dries Van Noten fashioning over half of their collections in the colour for the new season, from precision tailoring to cut-out maxi dresses. The stand out piece? The humble black jacket is set to be a must-have, while a pair of black tailored trousers, paired with trainers and an oversized blazer will see you through the season.
