Footie legend Paul McGrath has recalled “wonderful memories” with a “great team” as he pays tribute to the Ireland team on the 35th anniversary of Euro 1988.Paying tribute to the day, 35 years later, McGrath shared a black and white image of the Ireland team, captioning the pic: “Wonderful memories, great team mates.”McGrath was reminded of the anniversary by Westlife singer Nicky Byrne, who asked fans where they were for the famous match.
“He'd say, 'you won't be playing the next game, but you will get the next one if you behave!' I always wanted to play, because we had a great rapport with each other. John and Peter [Charlton's sons] used to come with us - not to the discos! - but came with us as part of the team.
