Local authority has warned government it will struggle to oversee aspects of programme aimed at helping rebuild thousands of houses around the country
The government has delayed the implementation of a new mica redress scheme due to disagreements with Donegal County Council over how key aspects of the €3 billion programme will operate.
The Department of Housing had planned to introduce key regulations at the start of June that would allow it to introduce a long-delayed new version of the defective block grant scheme. But it has pushed back the introduction of these regulations by two weeks to allow it to discuss the issue with Donegal County Council, the Business Post has learned.
