On Amazon, a scented candle brand suggests that lighting its Queen Elizabeth Memorial creation makes for “a lovely way to pay your respects to Her Majesty”. The £16 candle, made with 100 per cent natural soy wax, is scented with white rose – “known to be the Queen’s favourite scent”, the seller assures shoppers.For £4.
Many of the trinkets and keepsakes available were already on sale prior to the Queen’s death. The fact that Elizabeth II died in the same year that she marked her Platinum Jubilee meant vendors with stock left over from earlier festivities were able to swiftly update their listings to reference her passing.
All of its bricks-and-mortar sites, along with its online store, have been closed for business since the Queen died last Thursday.
