Ciara McQuillan is in search of value and these four fit the bill, literally …Whitewashed brick walls, gleaming black subway tiles, polished wooden fl oor and counter seating.Excellent battered fish and chips of course, but it doesn’t end there. Simple, unfussy and utterly delicious food and nothing on the menu costs more than €20.
Exposed brick and wine-lined walls, subtle lighting, bentwood chairs and vintage posters make this a perennially atmospheric spot.Small nibbles, pizza and charcuterie. Pasta is made from scratch daily and a Mediterranean fish stew with gremolata and fresh baguette is a steal at €12.Sunday-Tuesday, choose a bottle of wine from the well-stocked shelves and pay just €1 corkage. The rest of the week it will cost a modest €10, still excellent value.
