Sunny skies will bring warm weather to the Bay Area through the first half of the week, but a chance of rain enters the forecast as the weekend approaches.
"If you go into the coastal hills of Sonoma County, places like Venado that are always hot spots for rain, we could see up to a quarter inch, which is great," Garcia said."Even going out toward the Mayacamas on the Sonoma-Napa county border, we're looking at two-tenths of an inch. Mount Tamalpais could see two-tenths of an inch to a quarter inch."
The possibility for rain decreases south of the Golden Gate; there's a 40% chance in San Francisco and a 20% chance in the inland East Bay and South Bay. If San Francisco sees rain, it would most likely be about a tenth of an inch. "I wouldn’t say it’s normal, but it’s not out of the norm," Garcia said."We do get rain in June now and then."
The probability of rain could change between Tuesday and Saturday. The weather service is watching models closely.
