Photograph: Irish Queer ArchiveI think if the Fairview Park march hadn’t happened, there would not have been a Pride march in Dublin as early as that.The attitudes of the Gardaí, and especially the judge, brought the harsh reality of gay lives in the 70s and 80s into sharp focus and made straight people aware of the violence and discrimination that gay people suffered.
