Movies will once again be on the marquee when the Cleveland International Film Festival finally moves into its new home in the city’s premier entertainment district.

Goodman echoed that sentiment, adding she’s looking forward to seeing the reactions of the filmmakers when the curtain raises and they see their work projected in these historic theaters.The Cleveland International Festival's 2022 theme, "Shine On," is "a nod to the event's new at Playhouse Square and a celebration of the vibrant spark of excitement ignited by the return of CIFF’s in-person format," organizers said in a press release.
For the lead programmer and her team, the selection process began last June. By the time the lineup was finalized in February, Martin had spent approximately 770 hours watching 513 feature films -- a lot to be sure but still 200 less than she watched last year.
“We’re really trying to give as many different groups of people in Cleveland the opportunity to get out of their homes if they can and come down to experience an in-person festival,” Martin said.
