Five Georgia residents have been charged in a New Jersey armed home invasion this summer that left a person seriously wounded by gunfire, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Cresskill police first responded to the July 22 crime at a home on Center Street, the office said. The suspects were reportedly wearing FBI raid jackets at the time of the break-in, at about 8 p.m.After a five-month investigation, FBI agents and detectives from the Bergen prosecutor’s office executed search warrants Tuesday in Georgia. They arrested five suspects and seized multiple handguns, long guns and ballistics armor.
Arrested were Ali Muhammad, 33, and Taurus Sanchez Boone, 41, both of Atlanta, and Aaron Perry, 53, of Dunwoody, Georgia, Kedrain Burdette, 51, of Marietta, Georgia and Roderick Carmichael, 50, of Stockbridge, Georgia. The defendants all face the same charges, which include attempted murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated assault as well as theft and weapons offenses, authorities said.
A spokesperson for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the case.
