Easter morning in Jacksonville began with five separate shootings in different parts of the city.
According to JSO, it began Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. when officers were called to the 5000 block of Normandy Boulevard. The initial investigation revealed there was a large gathering of people and a 17-year-old boy was shot. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
JSO is investigating multiple shootings, as a violent night spills into the morning. These have left a total of six people shot, with two dead. “Those people might have had kids. They had families who love them. It just needs to stop,” said Carlie Laramore who lives nearby. “It happened on Easter, which is really ,really, really disappointing and sad.”
