MAN UTD 2-1 BRENTFORD: Goals from Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho gave Erik ten Hag's side their first win in six games, having gone behind to Thomas Frank's men
Rasmus Hojlund was the comeback king for Manchester United as Erik ten Hag 's side got back to winning ways with a much-needed victory at home to Brentford.
After Mazraoui underwent minor heart surgery during the international break, the Moroccan was only fit enough for the bench against Brentford. That forced Ten Hag to get his thinking cap on and used the left-footed Lisandro Martinez to plug the gap, meaning that Jonny Evans partnered De Ligt in the centre.
But the Dutch centre-back didn't want to be subbed, nor did Ten Hag want to bring him off - a gamble which didn't pay off. Although De Ligt was fine for most of the first half, blood started to pour down his face again in added time. 3. Rashford and Garancho waste no time Any fans who took a bit too long finishing their half-time pie or pint maybe didn't that think they'd miss much given United's lack of goals. Rashford and Garnacho had other ideas, though, shifting the momentum with a brilliant combination. Rashford picked the ball up on the right and producing a pinpoint lobbed pass over the top of Brentford's defence for Garnacho to run onto.
Martinez picked up a loose clearance just beyond the halfway line before Christian Eriksen fired the ball to Fernandes 25 yards from goal. Instead of taking it for himself, the Red Devils captain produced a deft flick for Hojlund to run through on goal.
