Gardaí in Cavan uncover a sophisticated growhouse operation, seizing cannabis plants and herb worth over half a million euros. Investigations are ongoing.
Irish authorities seized a significant amount of cannabis, estimated to be worth over €500,000, following a search operation conducted in Cavan on Wednesday. The operation, targeting the illicit sale and supply of drugs in the Cavan /Monaghan region, led the Monaghan Divisional Drug Unit to a house in Belturbet. There, they uncovered a sophisticated growhouse operation. The Gardaí recovered 111 cannabis saplings and more than 25 kilograms of cannabis herb.
These confiscated drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for comprehensive analysis. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the Gardaí have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
