June 29, 2022 - 14:42 BST Leanne Bayley Bowelbabe campaigner Dame Deborah James sadly passed away on 28 June, following her brave six-year battle with bowel cancer.
The inspirational mum-of-two, who raised more than £6.2 million with her Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK, leaves behind her husband Sebastien Bowen and their two children Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time and particularly with their children who have lost their beloved mother.
"For many years I struggled to know how to express my grief and this impacted my mental health for many years. Historically, grief has never been perceived as a mental health illness, but if not supported during the early years then it can affect you in the years to come."1. Give them space "Children tend to manage their emotions differently to adults. So, it’s important to give the child space and time to process what’s happened to them.
