A 7-year-old boy has tragically passed away after getting into difficulty in a swimming pool in Co. Clare.
The incident occurred at the Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre, near the towns of Ballina and Killaloe, yesterday .It is understood that the boy was attending a birthday party at the hotel and is originally from Clonlara.Gardaí said they were treating the boy’s death as a “tragic accident”, and that foul play was not suspected.In a statement to JOE, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident at a swimming pool on a premises in Killaloe, Co.
“A 7-year-old boy was transported from the scene to University Hospital Limerick, where he was later pronounced deceased.
