Dublin has elected its four MEPs for the European Parliament following late drama at the count in the RDS last night
The MEPs who will represent Dublin in the European Parliament are Fine Gael's Regina Doherty , Fianna Fáil's Barry Andrews , Lynn Boylan of Sinn Féin and Labour's Aodhán Ó Ríordáin.Labour's Aodhán Ó Ríordáin celebrates after winning a seat during results for the European elections at the RDS count centre in Dublin , 11-6-24. "There are hundreds of people around me and supporting me but it's a bloody marvellous feeling I have to tell you - so it's really nice". Mr Ó Ríordáin received over 16,000 out of the over 43,000 on offer from Mr Cuffe, which meant he overtook Niall Boylan at the final count.Mr Ó Ríordáin says it is a triumphant day for The Labour Party.
"We've really enjoyed the campaign, it's been very energising, it's been clearly very emotional but to win again for Labour means that we're back".
