Our TV movie pick for tonight (16 July) is The Thomas Crown Affair, the 1999 classic heist film starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
A remake of a ’60s movie, which starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, the reimagining sees Brosnan play the titular bored billionaire who decides to entertain himself by stealing a Monet painting from a reputed museum.
“When Catherine Banning , an investigator for the museum’s insurance company, takes an interest in Crown, a complicated back-and-forth game with romantic undertones begins between them,” the plot synopsis reads. Directed by John McTiernan of Die Hard and Predator fame, the 1999 version of the story was a box office hit and was received pretty favourably by critics – with the stylish filmmaking and Brosnan and Russo’s chemistry being singled out for praise.Check out its trailer right here:The great first entry in the Tom Cruise spy movie franchise. In this beloved Adam Sandler comedy, the actor plays a man who adopts a five-year-old to prove to his ex that he’s ready to grow up.
