Tributes pour in for Gianluca Vialli, who has tragically lost his life at the age of 58

We will remember you as a boy and a relentless centre-forward, because heroes are all young and beautiful and you, since that summer of 1984, have been our hero. “A perception that remained so after having bid farewell to Genoa and the south [of Italy] in tears. That’s right: while raising trophies around Europe with different colours, tracksuits and clothes, Gianluca Vialli was a Sampdorian and the Sampdorians were with Gianluca Vialli.
Watford, where Vialli had a short stint as manager, have also paid tribute and said: “All at Watford FC are saddened to learn of the passing of our former manager Gianluca Vialli. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”Vialli made 88 appearances for Chelsea from 1996 to 1999, scoring 40 goals in the process and helping them win the FA Cup in 1997.
