hen furniture designer Nada Debs first moved to Beirut from London in 2000 on a quest to reconnect with her Lebanese roots, her parents offered her the apartment they’d bought in the 1980s. “At the time it was rented out and they just said: ‘Why don’t you take it?’ So it was more a marriage of convenience than the thunderclap of love at first sight.”
