The conference was such a success that the directors of Pepper Place, Sloss Real Estate, and the IACP were eager to collaborate on another project. Nancy Hopkins, the president of IACP, is part of the Birmingham FOOD+ Culture Festival steering committee. Press materials for the FOOD+ culture festival say the upcoming event will celebrate Birmingham’s epicurean industry through dinners, festivities, chef demos, discussions and events while “maintaining a dedication to equity, the arts, sustainability and community growth.”
“The Food+Culture reveal party was only the beginning of what’s to come. I’m honored to be surrounded by such diverse cultures and people, and there’s no better way to celebrate that than sitting around a table and sharing the food and culture that make us Birmingham,” said Cathy Sloss Jones, the President and CEO of Sloss Real Estate, in a press release.
