I first saw August’s collection at the NCAD Showcase and immediately fell in love with the pieces, so it was such an honour to be able to wear one of their designs for DIFW. I paired the set with heels from MIISTA and a magazine bag I found while thrifting. Very chic!
As I was working as Backstage Lead for the DIFW Opening Ceremony at the GPO, I needed an outfit that would allow me to move freely and stay comfortable throughout the day. All leads were asked to wear green, but as a good maximalist, I couldn’t resist adding a little something extra — a vintage silk pink tie. Both the top and tie are second-hand, and I finished the look with Levi’s jeans and On sneakers.
Practical, comfortable, but still very true to my personal style. The inspiration behind this look was very ’90s and early 2000s — think Spice Girls meets Hannah Montana! I started building the look around a pink leopard-print blazer I found at Tola Vintage, pairing it with a pink and lime-green top from Nine Crows. For the bottoms, I went for a pink skirt from Vinted and a pair of funky tights.
My sneakers are Miley Cyrus for Converse, also sourced on Vinted, and my cuffs are by Irish designer Rashhiiid. I’m wearing two different bags — a Zara one sourced on Vinted and a River Island bag — because during Fashion Week, you inevitably end up carrying so many things! I finished the look with plenty of fun jewellery. The inspiration behind Saturday’s look was Gyaru, a Japanese fashion subculture often associated with pushing back against traditional beauty standards.
I wanted the look to feel playful, glamorous and a little rebellious. My vintage Coach bag, both tops, leopard-print zip-up, miniskirt, faux-fur belt and Hello Kitty charms were all curated by Punk Agus Princess, a Y2K second-hand shop. My heels are from Bershka, a perfect choice for a long day on my feet. All of my jewellery is thrifted, and my gorgeous beret is by Irish designer Rashhiiid.
My make-up was done by Medina Gutic and was inspired by one of Zara Larsson’s looks from her European tour. I felt like a badass princess wearing this. Doing a complete 180, Sunday was a much softer day for me. I drew inspiration from my favourite rag doll as a child and styled this beautiful Playful Kittens dress by Irish designer Aisling Duffy.
I bought these tights on my last trip to Paris, and this felt like the perfect moment to wear them for the first time, paired with these cute ballet flats from Bershka. For the bag, I couldn’t have chosen anything else but this Simone Rocha x H&M bow bag, which I found on Vinted for a bargain. My jewellery is by Vivienne Westwood, and the doll-like hair and make-up were brought to life by Medina Gutic.
I felt nervous about showcasing a softer side of myself, but the look felt so strong that I knew I had to bring it to life. I wanted a more modern look for Monday, so I built this outfit around my Acne Studios top. There’s been quite a bit of controversy around this particular piece online, but I stand by it. It’s one of the hardest-working pieces in my wardrobe, and I can style it in so many different ways.
Here, I wore it with a vintage Forever 21 tutu skirt and Kangol hat, both found on Vinted, along with a tie I bought at a charity shop near my house, a white leather belt from Brechic and my Jacquemus Chiquito bag. As a good Vinted rat, my Bershka boots are also from there, and they were definitely a highlight of Monday — I got so many compliments on them! The concept: polka dots.
This was the very first outfit I styled for Dublin Fashion Week, and definitely one of the most fun. I’m wearing this beautifully fitted GANNI dress, which was the starting point for the whole look. I paired it with a Sandy Liang x Vans jacket I found on Vinted.
I thought the logo looked a little too sporty for this particular look, so I pinned rosettes that my partner and I made all over it to make it feel more like me. My Tabis and gloves are also from Vinted, while all my jewellery was found in charity shops. I commissioned my sailor hat from Dublin-based designer Paul Van Sickle, and added an Aisling Duffy bag charm to my dress to tie the whole look together.
And for the make-up? More polka dots, of course! For Wednesday, the inspiration behind my look was drag queens and the ’80s. I created this very dramatic character in my head: a pageant queen who has won countless titles, hence the crown.
The hair and make-up by Tiago Assunção helped bring my vision to life. I’m wearing another piece from the Simone Rocha x H&M collaboration: this incredible tulle top that added so much movement to my outfit, paired with a red tutu skirt from Banned Retro. I borrowed my partner’s faux-fur coat, which brought even more drama to the look. Everything in the look is second-hand apart from my Loewe shoes and Vivienne Westwood bag and jewellery.
So much of my personal style is about storytelling, and I think this outfit really captures that. DIFW wrapped up at the EPIC Museum with an incredible Closing Ceremony! I was very emotional after all the hard work the team and I had poured into the Week, but I knew I had to bring it home with my last outfit.
My idea was to imagine what it would look like if I had been inside a sewing room when it exploded all over me. My trousers and top are from FYNES, and I absolutely love all the different ties. I even added one of the rosettes I made to one side of the trousers for a more personal touch, which I think is very much what FYNES is all about.
I’m wearing a beautiful hat by Marmar covered in buttons, which became a big part of the make-up concept too. Medina Gutic brought the idea to life, incorporating buttons onto my face as part of the look. I’m wearing Buffaloes to give me that extra height boost, and my bag is a gorgeous vintage Dior Gaucho Saddle sourced at Designer Exchange.
