She spoke to GLAMOUR about the backlash.
In response to the question “what do you do for a living?” Aly replies, “Oh, I love my husband,” explaining that in order to get this “job,” she became a “better human being, [she] became more feminine and also – shocking – submissive.”
The interviewer then asks, “what are your tips for women who want to be a housewife?” Aly responded, “Embrace it! It's an actual job – you just can't get it in the public or private sector.” I mean, so far, we'd say that's mostly accurate? However, she continued, “You need a man to hire you for it.
She continued, “I think women should work for the men that they wanna pursue […] If you want a lawyer, you should be a paralegal; or if you want a dentist, then you should be a dental hygienist. But these are considered ‘high-value/high-status’ professions – I think that's a really good model that not many women utilise.
“Women will bully the woman who is a secretary that married the doctor. But who has the last laugh? [It will be] her in the mansion with her husband and the baby!”At first glance, Aly's video appears to be aligned with the “tradwife” movement, which had a moment back in 2020 . On the surface, being a tradwife is about spending more time with your partner and children, as Amy Hunt described in“A 'tradwife' is a 21st century woman who has decided to embrace super traditional, conventional gender roles, by 'submitting' to their husband and not working, staying at home to do the typical household chores, and care for the children.”In all honesty, if this is your preference, you do you.
