Aaron Hill, a 22-year-old from Cork, achieved a significant victory over three-time World Champion Mark Williams at the German Masters, winning 5-2. Hill's decisive break of 115 in the final frame secured his place in the Round of 32, where he will face Jimmy Robinson.
The 22-year-old defeated Williams 5-2 and the result has been hailed as “the biggest win of his career”.
Hill was ultimately powered to victory against the three-time World Champion after earning a crucial break of 115 in the decisive frame. He had built up a two-frame lead, but the tournament favourite rallied back into the contest with breaks of 65 and 66. Hill, who is ranked 59th in the world, regained control again to seal the victory.“It was only a couple of years ago I was dreaming of playing in venues like this,” a delighted Hill said after his win.
“I’m delighted, especially the way I finished off in one visit.
