Netmums' Commercial Director, Ashley, recently attended Abba Voyage in Stratford with 9 kids and mums – here's what she thought
ABBA Voyage may not be what you’d immediately think of when someone says ‘family day out’ but I’m here to tell you that maybe it should be. I attended the virtual concert residency in Stratford, London with my 10-year-old daughter and eight of her friends along with their mums, and as avid fans of Mamma Mia – where our love for ABBA songs first blossomed – it made for a perfect outing.
The residency at ABBA Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, first began in May 2022 and is set to finish later this year, in November. Despite the high prices, we indulged in beef hot dogs, potato wedges and jerk chicken burgers. We even purchased an ABBA Voyage souvenir metal water bottle for £35.
Although not every song was familiar, the classic hits had the girls dancing joyfully – it was heartwarming to see mums and daughters bonding on the dance floor.And most of the mums in our group regretted not bringing dads and sons along, realising they would have loved it too. Photo credit : Ashley How to get there To reach the ABBA Arena, we took the overground to Stratford. We then swapped to the DLR , and got off at Pudding Mill Lane.Dance floor tickets meant entering through entrance B, so we headed left upon arrival.
