The 35 year old singer said she developed the uncomfortable fungal skin infection after performing under the heat of the lights at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace while wearing Spanx. The condition, medical name tinea cruris, causes an itchy rash in warm, moist parts of the body - including the upper part of the thighs, buttocks and lower parts of the abdomen - and is known as ‘jock itch’ because it commonly affects athletes, as they sweat a lot.
She went on to make a 'crude confession', admitting her doctor had diagnosed her with jock itch - which she ‘never knew existed’. The Rolling in the Deep singer added: “Obviously when I do my shows I wear Spanx and keep it all in and make it all fit me. And I sweat a lot and it doesn't go anywhere. So basically I just sit in my own sweat. And my doctor gave me Jock Itch.
The singer also revealed how the latest shows would be filmed and later released on film. She said: “I’ll be back for a few weeks in June and I’m going to film it, and I’m going to release it to make sure that anyone who wants to see it…And then I’ll be back in summer, from the end of August until fall.”
