, it takes Adele on a stylish journey. As the camera pans across the screen and dancers writhe across the frame, she transforms, with a trio of outfits reflecting her current performer mood.
Naturally, the first look is the most subdued. In the video’s first seconds, darkness fades to reveal Adele clad in’s transparent pussy bow blouse covered with polka dots. Worn with a black corset top and an empire waist skirt, the look skews close to the styles we’ve seen the star sport in the past year while off-duty.
A custom piece from Louis Vuitton signaled the second verse and playfully nodded to the song’s title. Nicolas Ghesquière’s brocade gown and white caplet feel like vestments, and it doesn’t hurt that Adele wears them while singing in front of a neon halo. The look’s drama is taken even further thanks to its black leather opera gloves and chandelier cross earrings.
