Aer Lingus has cancelled some of its flights from Dublin to London's Heathrow Airport due to 'freezing fog conditions' and non-cancelled flights may experience delays.

The airline warned passengers to expect delays on non-cancelled flights as well and further cancellations of other UK regional services.

It follows two days of extensive delays, with one group of passengers waiting almost 15 hours to board a flight to Barcelona.Aer Lingus has advised passengers to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport. "We continue to monitor the weather conditions and wish to reassure customers that our teams are doing all they can to minimise any disruption to their travel plans", the airline company said.

"Customers travelling today can check the status of their flight on aerlingus.com before travelling to the airport."
