‘Opportunity with District 1:’ San Antonio Councilman Mario Bravo draws second reelection challenger
Councilman Mario Bravo, whose behavior toward a colleague council members condemned last week in a censure vote, has drawn a second reelection challenger for the District 1 seat on City Council. Jeremy Roberts, chair of the city’s small business advisory commission and a member of the airport advisory commission, told the Express-News he is putting his campaign team together.
Roberts, 44, has not run for public office before, but he carries a long resume of local civic involvement. He boasts service on many local boards, including the board of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A private attorney hired by the city to investigate Bravo’s actions determined he violated city employment standards on anti-harassment and prohibition of violence in the workplace.
. The new map was approved in June. Candidates are eligible to run for City Council if they have resided in the district they plan to run in for at least six months prior to filing their application for election.
