US artificial intelligence (AI) startup Anthropic is to open an office in Dublin.
The company said the base will be opening in the coming months and will be Anthropic's first EU office."Ireland has developed an incredible tech ecosystem over the last two decades or so which we are looking forward to joining," the company said.
Anthropic said it is establishing an Irish entity as part of plans to increase its presence across Europe. It follows the opening of a small London office in 2023. "Over the coming months, we will hire staff across a range of sectors including legal, sales and people operations before expanding our recruiting plans to other areas," the company said.Its flagship product is Claude, an AI model similar to ChatGPT.
Earlier this month Anthropic announced their new model family, Claude 3, which it describes as state-of-the-art AI systems built for enterprises.
