There have been some serious crashes in the last few weeks that have left some people questioning if greater safety measures are needed on roads.
It happened just before 8.45am on Friday, August 18, on the A41 junction with the A405, Watford.
Officers said the crash was on the northbound carriageway with the cyclist riding a silver and black bike, and the van was a white Ford Transit Connect.The cyclist, a man in his 20s from Hemel Hempstead, remains in hospital with serious injuries. Police confirmed the van driver, a 26-year-old man from Luton, was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident.Two pensioners were seriously injured when a car crashed into a wall.
