Lewis McGregor wants to make amends for a 4-0 Firhill thumping on Saturday
Airdrie star Lewis McGregor says their play-off quarter-final against Partick Thistle will be like cup finals, and admits his side have a lot to make up for after Saturday’s Firhill mauling.
McGregor was unable to add to his five goals this season when given a one-on-one opportunity against Thistle keeper David Mitchell, and the hosts went on to thump them 4-0 in the second half. Former Morton ace McGregor, 20, admits it was a poor performance from his side, but insists it will be different at the end of the season when they try to beat Jags to a place in the semi-final.
He said: “We’re in the play-off, which is brilliant, but looking back on that game there isn’t great.“We’ll be playing them again over thee two legs, so we need to make it up to the fans again. “It will be a different mind-set, I think we go in wanting to win every game between now and the end of the season.”He said: “I think towards half-time we had more of the chances and if I score my chance it maybe changes the game.“I thought I was going to score, but it took a bobble and I had to set myself again, so it threw me off a bit, but I should be scoring those.
