The television duo worked together for many years before Mark announced that he was leaving Ireland AM in 2019 after 20 years fronting the popular morning programme
There has been a long list of familiar faces that have fronted the programme over the years, however, two of its longest running stars are Alan Hughes and Mark Cagney.

Career, life with family and result of court case People were expecting to see the television presenter return for the show’s 25th anniversary special, however, they were disappointed to find out he wouldn’t be reappearing.After watching a video package of the panto star’s best bits, co-host Tommy Bowe said: “There’s lots of laughs there, but you’ve done the sad stories. On this show, you have covered everything.”
He replied: “I really have. Even the lifeboat thing, that was a very serious thing. We went out and jumped into the sea to cover it all.”
