Sad news for those who like to fish for late-season Silvers.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has issued an emergency order that will close Silver Salmon fishing in the Tanana River drainage area starting 12 a.m. Thursday, September 8.Due to below average runs, this closure will prohibit all Coho Salmon, commonly known as Silver Salmon, and includes catch-and-release fishing.
