It comes after the supermarket recently revealed a teaser for its festive TV spot, which saw Kevin left behind at the airport
Aldi's Kevin the Carrot has officially returned as the supermarket has revealed its Christmas 2022 advert inspired by classic festive movie Home Alone.
Similar to the infamous scene from the nostalgic 90s festive movie, Katie shouts "Kevin" after realising he is missing and launched a bid to "find Kevin." The advert then focuses on the beloved vegetable who is seen at home alone, with his feet up watching football on his phone, while an unknown intruder stalks across the roof.
Taking inspiration from Home Alone's Kevin McCallister, he then swings down the hallway on some Christmas lights, slams the letterbox shut with his feet, before, finally, dropping a water balloon over the head of the intruder from a safe distance. "Santa, thank goodness you're here," he said excitedly as his family soon ran up to him, screeching in excitement as they all ran up to him. The voiceover concluded: "But even though Kevin was a little worse for wear, he was overjoyed to have everybody there!"
