Alec Baldwin charged with involuntary manslaughter over fatal shooting on Rust set

Alec Baldwin has been charged with involuntary manslaughter following the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the filming of Rust in 2021

against Mr Baldwin and the film’s armourer on Thursday after more than a year of investigation into the incident on a film set in the state.when a revolver that Mr Baldwin was rehearsing with fired a live round that hit her andMr Baldwin had denied responsibility for her death and said he believed the weapon was safe to use.

Assistant director David Halls has signed a plea deal for the charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon, the prosecutor said. “After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the ‘Rust’ film crew,” Ms Carmack-Altwies said.
