Alison Hammond opens up on ‘finding new Christmas traditions’ since losing her mum
The run up to Christmas is obviously full of joy and cheer, but it can also rake up memories of those we've lost over the years. This Morning presenter Alison Hammond feels that loss as hard as anyone as she prepares to spend her second Christmas without mum, Maria.

In a 2019 interview with OK! magazine, Alison explained how her mum was a pivotal part of Christmas Day, revealing that she used to wake up at 2am to cook the turkey. "It's crazy. I'm not doing that. I need my beauty sleep!" she added."Being with my family. Christmas dinner is a big thing. Putting the turkey in at 5am because I like to slow cook. One o’clock dinner. Chilling out. Hot mince pies with ice cream on.
"It’s a lovely show, with Christmassy songs which will put everyone in the mood for a lovely Christmas. There’s snow," she teased.
