All the Greater Manchester candidates standing to be councillors in the local elections 2024
All borough councils in the region are holding elections with seats up for grabs in Bury, Bolton, Oldham, Manchester, Tameside, Trafford, Rochdale, Stockport, Salford and Wigan.
Polls will be open on May 2 from 7am to 10pm. However if you have not registered it is now too late, with the deadline being April 16.Residents will need a photo ID to vote, with a list of accepted forms here. If you do not have any of the accepted forms of ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate online here until 5pm on April 24.
Across England, more than 2,500 council seats will be up for grabs in 107 local authorities. Mayoral elections are taking place in Greater Manchester as well as East Midland, Liverpool City Region, North East, South Yorkshire, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, York and North Yorkshire, London and Salford.
There are also police and crime commissioner elections across England and Wales - but not in Greater Manchester, London, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. May's local elections are the last big electoral test for all the political parties before the general election, which is expected to take place later this year.
