The Rangers hero was in disbelief at the call that cost Aberdeen dearly in the Europa Conference League.
Ally McCoist has ripped in to VAR for 'slapping' Aberdeen in the face in the Europa Conference League.
The Dons were steering their way to a first win in Group G after two goals from Bojan Miovksi and Dante Polvara had Barry Robson's men cruising. That was before PAOK hit back with two late strikes to set up an enthralling finish, but not before Aberdeen defender Jack McKenzie seemed to be taken down in the area.
But Rangers hero McCoist reckons it was an utter slap in the face for VAR not to have intervened and reviewed the decision when Aberdeen were winning 2-1. He cheekily referred to the technology, of which he has been in favour of binning, as 'working for once' but says it was the cruelest of decisions. He told TNT Sports: "It was a penalty, but how they never gave the other one is beyond me. This is the problem we have, it's a complete and utter lack of consistency.
"If you don't have VAR, you can one hundred per cent accept people's mistakes...referees and officials are going to make mistakes. When you have VAR right in front of you, and you're seeing it six or seven times. That's my problem. "In everyone's eyes it's the wrong decision, look at that. Bam. It's a penalty...there's no excuse for the officials looking at VAR not to see that. It's beyond me, they're looking at it two or three times..for the life of me I don't know what they're seeing."
