More people have been to the moon than touched Blackpool Tower's flagpole
TV and radio star Amanda Holden has revealed she was "absolutely terrified" after climbing to the summit of Blackpool Tower.
After she climbed up to reach high on the flagpole, it is believed she climbed higher on the landmark than any other member of the public before her. The colossal effort was done as part of a fundraising effort for Global’s Make Some Noise.Amanda hosts the Heart Breakfast show alongside Jamie Theakston and climbed the tower as the first of five big challenges.
"It honestly, I was absolutely terrified, my knees and legs went to jelly. You sort of learn to trust the equipment. I’ve never fainted in my life and when I got to the top, I suddenly thought ‘I’m going to here!’
