Urgent recall of popular Amazon item bought by hundreds in Ireland amid alarming safety issue
A popular product sold on Amazon has been urgently recalled after an alarming safety issue was found.The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says there is a potential risk of electric shock due to insufficient insulation around the live wire, which fails to meet the necessary regulatory standards.READ MORE: Ryanair rules on taking food onto planes to save money
Anyone who has one at home is urged to stop using it immediately and keep it out of reach of children.In a statement, the CCPC said: “A safety issue has been identified with an Aomeya Table Lamp sold on the Amazon platform. The product presents a risk of electric shock as the basic insulation surrounding the live wire is insufficient and, therefore, does not meet the requirements of the relevant regulations.
