Powerful new graphics card from AMD to have 24GB memory
It's an exciting time for PC gamers with yet another major hardware launch expected soon and this time it's AMD taking on Nvidia with what we expect to be a monster graphics card - the Radeon RX 7900XTX, which will go head to head with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4090.
The latest rumors suggest a large graphics card with a massive 24GB of GDDR6 memory, a 384-bit memory bus and new RDNA3 architecture. A significant unknown at the moment is whether AMD will also introduce PCIe 5.0 support with its RX 7000-series graphics cards, although it's highly likely seeing as the latest motherboards from AMD and Intel support it plus AMD was the first to introduce PCIe 4.0 GPUs too.
Something it will apparently not be using is the 12VHPWR PCIe 5.0 power connector first introduced on Nvidia's RTX 4090. This has seen reports of melting issues from small numbers of owners, potentially linked to bending the new cable at extreme angles.
