'What can I say? It’s not like it’s across the board negative for Trump.'

Ireland UnfilteredThe American Psycho author discussed his anti-millennial reputation, finding happiness with age, and why he thinks Donald Trump may be reelected in the 2020 US Presidential Election.

Speaking on the show, Ellis described Trump as a"cockroach" who has managed to survive and thrive throughout his presidency, and told Dion of how the resistance and anger towards Trump hasn't done us much good.: What can I say? It’s not like it’s across the board negative for Trump. There’s a side that hates him and there’s a side that likes him. I don’t know what, these last three years, what the resistance managed to do.

I think there was a lot of time wasted. I think they’re catching up right now by saying “Let’s just forget Trump. Let’s connect with policy. Let’s find the best candidate to get rid of him”. It might be too late, I don’t know. There was an awful lot of time in terms of impeachment, and screaming about Trump, and getting Trumped, and the Mueller Report, and Stormy Daniels… whatever. All of these things that Trump somehow survived like a cockroach, you know? He survived everything since 2015.
