A young man was killed and several others were injured in a car crash involving a telephone pole late Thursday night in Amherst, Massachusetts, authorities announced.
Sayhan Islam, 19, of Amherst, was driving on North East Street in Amherst when his car went off the road and struck a telephone pole around 11:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.Islam was killed in the crash. Five passengers in his car were injured in the collision and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, the district attorney said.
